Boys Baseball of Aurora, Illinois was formed in 1952 with a goal to provide our youth with an organized summer baseball league. We are dedicated to providing the children in Aurora, as well as the surrounding communities, with a baseball program that stresses the early development of fundamentals, the importance of teamwork, the life lessons of good sportsmanship, and above all else, having fun playing age-level competitive baseball.

Governed by a sixteen member Board of Directors, BBA is a Not-for-Profit corporation chartered annually by the State of Illinois. Sponsored by the City of Aurora, the Fox Valley Park District, and dozens of local businesses and organizations, BBA operates five leagues for kids ages 5-14. Over 200 Volunteers each year serving as managers, coaches, and scorekeepers, staff over 50 teams playing on 15 fields.

BBA is organized into 6 Leagues.  The Pony League is for participants 13 and 14 years of age.  This is where advanced skills are taught and honed for the start of High School Baseball.  The Major League is for players 11 and 12 years of age. Here, fundamentals are honed and baseball skills are on exhibit as teams compete against divisional opponents. At the Minor League level, children 9-10 years of age experience expand their level of competition in an environment dedicated to enhancing fundamentals and teamwork in a setting that is fun for all. The Rookie League is for 7 and 8 year olds to build on those initial seasons by experiencing player pitch and full competition in baseball for the first time.  The Instructional League focuses on 5 and 6 year olds to teach them the basics of baseball using a fun laid back environment.  Within the framework of a team, kdis are introduced to baseball fundamentals in a fun atmosphere designed to promote a lasting love for the game. Here the very basics of the game are taught in short sessions to help spark an enjoyment of baseball.

In addition to our "in house" program described above, BBA also offers Tournament Team competition for players ages 8-14. These eight teams comprising the Aurora Starz, provide a tremendous opportunity for our boys to participate at a higher level of competition in weekend tournaments. Every level of Starz team is self supported via sponsorships, donations, and fund raisers.

Added to this complement of services, BBA also operates the ARBL (Adaptive Recreational Baseball League) intended for athletes with cognitive or physical challenges that would otherwise prevent them from participating in the regular league.  BBA staffs this with volunteers (both adults and players from our other leagues), so these kids can play weekly games against each other in a fun and relaxed environment that provides them an outlet for their physical and competitive needs all while in a safe and regulated environment.

BBA is also proud of its Hall of Fame. Beginning with an inaugural class in 2009, we continue to honor individuals who have served as Board Members, Managers, and Umpires providing their time and talent to the League. We continue to recognize Friends of the League who have been instrumental in promoting our goals through their dedication to baseball in Aurora. Finally, we honor those most important to us-players who have demonstrated the highest level of skill and sportsmanship at our levels of play and who have gone on to play competitively through the age of 18. Several have progressed through the Minor Leagues to reach Major League Baseball.
